To sum up, all these prophecies were fulfilled in Jesus the Messiah. The glory coming into the Temple, the Lord coming into the Temple was fulfilled in Jesus. He is the messenger of the Covenant bringing the good news of the New Covenant.
He came into the Temple on many occasions to preach to heal to demonstrate the power of God and He is the glory of God coming into the latter house, greater than the glory cloud which came into the first house. He is the Messiah who fulfilled the prophecy of the suffering servant of Daniel 9 and Isaiah 53, and fulfilled that before the destruction of the second temple.
And He is coming again and will restore true worship in a restored Temple in Jerusalem during the Millennium in the Messianic Kingdom.
Therefore, He came into the second Temple and, during that time, He suffered rejection, death for the sin of the world and was resurrected, and all of these things confirm to us the truth that Jesus is the Messiah and that the Bible is the word of God.
The Bible contains prophecies given which no one else could fulfil except Jesus the Messiah. The Bible is full of fulfilled prophecy and there is a further fulfilment connected to the Second Coming of Jesus, to the rebuilding of the temple in the millennial Kingdom which is another issue which I won’t get into today, but which is, by the way, also the reason why there is so much controversy over this area in Jerusalem.Prophecies in detail
Why when Jewish Member of Parliament goes up on the Temple mount does it cause such an exceptional uproar? Because there is no piece of real estate which is more strategic than the Temple Mount. Real estate now in the hands of Islam.
But the Temple Mount will one day be liberated from that control and become the place where God will be worshiped in spirit and truth at the Second Coming of Jesus the Messiah; something which we look forward to.
In the meantime, believe in Jesus. He is the glory of God. Let Him come into your life and dwell within you and be your Saviour. In Jesus’ name, amen.
