Humanity on the road to extinction or glorious appearing of the Lord?
Extinction Rebellion (XR) hit the streets of London in April, calling for ‘a full-scale Rebellion to demand decisive action from governments on the environmental crisis.’ They said ‘Under our current system, we are headed for disaster. Catastrophic climate breakdown will cause food collapse, destroy communities, kill millions, and render many more homeless. Mass extinction of wild species will lead to ecological collapse, and when they go, we go. Destruction of natural habitats will lead to genocide of indigenous peoples and the loss of our planet’s life support systems.’ The group calls for a revolutionary change to replace present governments with ‘a Citizens’ Assembly’ along the lines of a far left anti-Capitalist regime.
While this is the extreme end of the environmental movement, mainstream education and media are telling young people in schools and colleges, that humanity is on course for an environmental catastrophe and that this can only be reversed by drastic action in the next few years. Failure to do so will lead to the end of civilisation and the possible extinction of life on earth.
This view of the future comes at a time when the view that we are on the brink of climate disaster is being reinforced by facts on the ground. Global emissions of carbon dioxide hit a new high last year despite decades of climate negotiations and agreements. The last five years are the hottest since records began. A string of natural disasters has made matters worse and a report from scientists convened by the UN claimed that the world is less than 11 years away from irreversible climate change impacts. This was the message given by David Attenborough and a number of scientists in a BBC programme on climate change on 18 April. This is a summary of the message of this programme:
Climate change is the greatest threat to humanity in thousands of years. We are already seeing its impact in the great storms, floods and heatwaves of recent days and the rise in the sea level. Most of the reason for this is human activity, mainly burning fossil fuels to power our industrial and transport system, and burning down forests around the world. Adding excess carbon to the atmosphere causes a heat blanket to trap more heat on the surface and increase the overall temperature. Scientists across the globe are in no doubt that at the current rate of warming we risk a devastating future. If we have not taken dramatic action within the next decade we could face irreversible damage to the natural world, and the collapse of our societies. There is still time to avoid a catastrophic future, but we must take action now.
If the planet continues to warm there will be more intense and frequent heat waves, drying out the soil, causing drought and water scarcity. Food production will be hit and many parts of the world will lose access to clean drinking water. The extinction of species will cause the collapse of the world’s ecosystems. Already extreme weather is causing record breaking wild fires around the world, also storms and floods in various places. Ice losses in Antarctica and Greenland are worse than expected, with the Greenland ice sheet melting and losing 4 trillion tons of ice, 5 times as much as a day as it was 25 years ago. This is causing rising sea levels which pose a risk to huge areas of the world where over 600 million people live. Already people in vulnerable areas like Pacific islands, west Africa, Bangladesh and Indonesia are being displaced. Some of the world’s great cities could become impossible to live in because of the danger of storms and surges of water. Put all these factors together and we will see millions dying and the possible end of civilisation altogether.
The programme featured Swedish schoolgirl, Greta Thunberg, as an example of those who are doing something to save the world from this fate. She has started the movement of school children striking from school to protest about global warming. She tells how her teachers at school told her about climate change and she decided she had to do something to stop it. So she stopped going to school and sat outside the Swedish parliament with her placard protesting about the problem. She asked ‘What is the point of learning at school if there is no future for the human race?’ Since then thousands of pupils have joined her in her school strike for climate action. She has now achieved superstar status in the environmental movement, having been blessed by the Pope, spoken to the UN, the European Parliament, and the UK parliament and even been nominated for the Nobel Prize. She told the delegates at the World Economic Forum, she says: ‘Adults keep saying: “We owe it to the young people to give them hope.” But I don’t want your hope. I don’t want you to be hopeful. I want you to panic. I want you to feel the fear I feel every day. And then I want you to act. I want you to act as you would in a crisis. I want you to act as if our house is on fire. Because it is.’
How are we to respond to all this? There are many who say this is all fake news based on unproven science, including Donald Trump and Jeremy Corbyn’s brother, Piers Corbyn. Websites like Watts up with that? https://wattsupwiththat.com challenge the scientific basis of the climate change agenda. They disagree with its analysis and deny the connection between human activity, the burning of fossil fuels and global warming. They accuse climate alarmists of instilling unnecessary fears in people and endangering society by cutting back on means essential to keep the economy going.
Some prophecy sites say that this is part of the end time deception, aimed at making people so fearful of the consequences of climate change that they will accept the need for a global government out of which the Antichrist will arise. I think that quite possibly is the case. Climate action groups linked to global government activists like George Soros. The spirit at the climate change demonstrations is one of antichrist rebellion mixed in with New Age mysticism, yoga, vegan diet, repetitive drumming and chanting revolutionary slogans. It can also be said that encouraging children to bunk off school and attend political demonstrations is feeding into the spirit of lawlessness and anarchy which is another major threat to the future of our society and part of the plan for a major restructuring of society.
At the same time we have to understand that the reasons for concern about the future of the planet are genuine. There is a lot of evidence that humanity has fouled up the planet to the extent that they may not have a future to work towards and look forward to. Experts are saying that this is based on irrefutable scientific evidence. We also see facts on the ground. A number of Bible prophecies line up with it.
For example Jesus spoke of famines and earthquakes increasing as a sign of His coming (Matthew 24). In Isaiah 24.5-6 we read of a polluted earth bringing great heat, causing many to die: ‘The earth is also defiled (Hebrew word ‘chanef’ can also be translated ‘polluted’) under its inhabitants, because they have transgressed the laws, changed the ordinance, broken the everlasting covenant. Therefore the curse has devoured the earth and those who dwell in it are desolate. Therefore the inhabitants of the earth are burned and few men are left.’
Revelation 8.7-11 describes trees being burned up, waters becoming bitter and undrinkable, fish dying in the sea during the Great Tribulation period. Revelation 16 speaks of a time when ‘men are scorched with great heat’, when the River dries up and there is a ‘great earthquake such a mighty and great earthquake as had not occurred since there were men on the earth’. Revelation 16.8,12,18.
Jesus spoke of a time when men’s hearts would fail them for fear of what is coming on the earth as they see ‘on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity, the sea and the waves roaring; men’s hearts failing them from fear and the expectation of those things which are coming on the earth, for the powers of the heavens will be shaken.’ Luke 21.25-6. Jesus refers to the sea and the waves roaring bringing ‘distress of nations with perplexity’ on the earth. A warming sea with sea levels rising will bring storms and floods surging onto coastal areas making them uninhabitable. The Greek phrase for ‘with perplexity’ is ‘aporia’ which means ‘with no way out’. This implies that by this stage humanity will have reached a ‘tipping point’ with no way out of the crisis which is coming on the earth.
This means that the climate change activism or ‘extinction rebellion’ will not prevent the disaster that young people like Greta Thunberg fear is coming on the earth. It could actually be paving the way for the Antichrist to come in with his false promise of ‘peace and safety’ which will make things infinitely worse. So what can we say to these people, especially the young, who fear that they are growing up into a world has no future. One of the posters being held up by young demonstrators on the ‘Extinction Rebellion’ read, ‘Are we the last generation?’
It looks like they probably are the last generation of this age. Unfortunately this kind of action is not going to save the situation. Society has now been set up with dependency on technology, modern transport and agriculture systems dependent on power which involves burning fossil fuels. Britain is making some reductions in these but cannot meet the demand of demonstrators for a total ban on carbon emissions by 2025. If this were to be implemented society would collapse and food supplies would not reach the cities. Any reductions made in the UK are miniscule compared to the amount of carbon that China is pumping out.
There are other environmental issues we can’t to do anything about, like the instability in the earth’s crust causing an increase in earthquakes and volcanoes and the weakening of earth’s magnetic field which could cause massive crisis in environment. Michael Snyder has written: ‘Earth’s magnetic field is getting significantly weaker, the magnetic north pole is shifting at an accelerating pace, and scientists readily admit that a sudden pole shift could potentially cause “trillions of dollars” in damage. Today, most of us take the protection provided by Earth’s magnetic field completely for granted. It is essentially a colossal force field which surrounds our planet and makes life possible. And even with such protection, a giant solar storm could still potentially hit our planet and completely fry our power grid. But as our magnetic field continues to get weaker and weaker, even much smaller solar storms will have the potential to be cataclysmic. And once the magnetic field gets weak enough, we will be facing much bigger problems. If enough solar radiation starts reaching our planet none of us will survive.’
If this is true the only one who can save us is the one who made our planet and the universe, God in person of Jesus Christ. The environmental problem is one of many signs of the soon coming of Jesus. But whether we are young or old we have the glorious hope in the coming rapture of the church and the new age that is coming, when the Lord Jesus returns to earth put right the mess the human race has made of the world He gave us to look after.
Those who put their trust in Jesus now have a glorious future and a hope, when ‘the earth shall become ‘kingdom of our Lord and of His Messiah and He shall reign for ever and ever.’ Revelation 11.15. In the coming Millennial kingdom, He will do what we cannot do, and renew the earth so it will again become the beautiful and fruitful place God intended it to be in the first place. Then ‘They shall not hurt or destroy in all my holy mountain, for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord as the waters cover the sea.’ Isaiah 11.9.
Significant things happening in Iran.
Relentless rain and flooding throughout Iran have left some 2 million people facing a humanitarian crisis. The country has been swamped from north to south, with homes destroyed, bridges and roads unusable. The country’s agriculture sector, which makes up about 14 percent of Iran’s GDP, has been devastated. The estimated bill to repair the damage stands at least $2.5 billion.
Iran has blamed U.S. sanctions for hampering relief efforts. Secretary of State Mike Pompeo blamed the Iranian government. “These floods once again show the level of Iranian regime mismanagement in urban planning and in emergency preparedness.” The Iranian people are angry at the vast amount of money the regime spends on its wars in Syria, Lebanon, Yemen and its neglect of the home situation, creating a potentially revolutionary situation.
The United States and Iran came one step closer to war after the Trump Administration announced it would tighten sanctions against importers of Iranian oil. It aims to stop Iran’s oil exports altogether and collapse the economy which relies on oil exports up 40 percent of the state budget in the Islamic Republic.
Iran reacted furiously to the new American measure and threatened to close the Strait of Hormuz a narrow waterway in the Persian Gulf where 18 million barrels of oil pass through each day. This accounts for 30 percent of the world’s oil supply and a closure of the waterway could result in a worldwide economic crisis since the price of Brent crude oil is already at a six-months high. Iran’s Foreign Minister Javad Zarif said they will decide on closure of Strait when new US measures come into play at beginning of May. US says it will keep the waterway open at all costs. Reports came in that the US military had started to build-up its forces in the Middle East, two aircraft carriers to the Persian Gulf and the Mediterranean Sea this week. The United States, furthermore, deployed an unspecified number of F-35 stealth fighter planes to the United Arab Emirates and has reportedly a number of submarines in the region. The US will not hesitate to use force to keep the Strait of Hormuz open.
Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, meanwhile, this week decided to appoint Hossein Salami the hawkish deputy commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) as the new head of the organization. Pundits pointed out that “no Iranian commander has threatened the United States, Israel and Europe more than Salami.” Salami is a “absolutely obedient commander and a vocal advocate of aggressive military diplomacy and Iran’s missile program.” Meanwhile a top Iranian brigadier general Ali Nasiri who once headed Iran’s counterintelligence operations had defected to the US with “a cache of secret documents said to contain information on Tehran’s military plans,” a major coup for US intelligence.
If this kicks off we are into a big time event which could involve US, Russia, Iran, Saudi Arabia and of course Israel. Also it would bring in another global economic crisis.
This comes after increased cooperation between the Israeli military and the US army over the past few months. Any conflict between US and Iran could bring in an Iranian missile attack on Israel. On April 15th, the US military recently brought its Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) system to Israel where it was integrated in Israel’s multi-layered missile defense systems such as the Arrow a mid-altitude missile interceptor during an unique drill with the IAF.
In the last month Israel continues to strike Iranian targets in Syria. Despite warnings from Russia and threats of retaliation from Iran, on April 14 three sites in central Syria were hit killing several Iranian militants and their associates and destroying buildings in a centre for upgrading missiles to be aimed at Israel.
The factory was under the protection of the S-300 missile defence system, the advanced weapon supplied by Russia to make such attacks impossible. Israel used its new supersonic ‘Rampage’ missile launched from a fighter jet 150 miles away and therefore able to avoid detection from the S-300, a blow to the Russians and the Iranians.
Iran’s military activities and clear public threats to annihilate Israel continue to grow in frequency and intensity. The Deputy Commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, Hossein Salami, said on Iranian TV that Israel is “vulnerable and bringing itself closer to death” and “Our strategy is to erase Israel from the global political map.” Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei stated that the, “the Zionist regime will perish in the not so far future.”
Iran is actively preparing for war with Israel and recently held a massive drill named Bayt al-Maqdis” or Beit HaMaqdish in Hebrew. Bayt al-Maqdis (or Temple in English) was the name the early Muslims gave to Jerusalem. Iran working on turning Syria and Iraq into proxy-states along with Lebanon model and surrounding Israel with its missiles to be used in a future war with Israel. Could US action in Gulf set this off? And bring in Russia? See Ezekiel 38-9, the War of Gog and Magog.
Islamist terrorists target Christians and churches.
Sri Lanka witnessed one of the most deadly terror attacks in history as an Islamist group linked to ISIS murdered around 250 people wounding more than 500 more in churches and hotels in the predominantly Buddhist country Sri Lanka. The group had a history of vandalising Buddhist shrines and statutes in Sri Lanka but not of carrying out suicide attacks against non-Muslims.
Islamist terror against Christians and churches has been constantly on the rise as a quick look at the website of the watchdog group, Religion of Peace learns. Many of the recent terror attacks against Christians have taken place in Nigeria where Christian girls are being kidnapped and forced to marry Muslim men, Pastors are abducted randomly and churches care torched, vandalised or destroyed. In March 150 Christians were murdered in Nigeria and Christian clerics warn that the situation is a ticking bomb that threatens “to ignite the whole region”. Almost all terror attacks against Christians in Nigeria was the work of two Jihadist organisations with ties to Islamic State (Boko Haram and the Fulani).
In Europe, Islamist terror against Christianity is on the rise as well. In France, for example, 1068 attacks on Christian institutes, symbols or churches were recorded in 2018 an increase of 17 percent compared to 2017. The same trend is visible in Germany where not only anti-Semitism is on the rise again but also violence against any forms of Christianity. In March alone, four churches were vandalised or torched in Germany while the perpetrators don’t hide their identity as they write Islamic expressions as “Allah Hu Akbar” on walls and doors of Christian institutions. In the German state of Bavaria 200 churches were attacked in 2017. Attacks has significantly risen since the arrival of a large number of Syrian Muslim refugees.
Handwritten letters threatening petrol bomb attacks and mass stabbings have been sent to 15 churches in the UK in the past two months. A letter sent to a church in Sheffield said, ‘Stop your services right away. If you don’t your church will be fire bombed while in service. Continue behind closed doors and your congregation will be stabbed one by one. Blood on your hands. You have been warned.’ In the USA a South Carolina church was broken into and vandalised with the words ‘Submit to God thru Islam, Muhammed is his prophet’ daubed on the wall.
Much of this being covered up by authorities in European countries who are hiding the identity of the Islamist attackers and when the media leak the identity of a destroyer of Christian symbols and buildings, they usually present the incident as a result of a mental problem. Expert Raymond Ibrahim recently wrote that governments contribute to the rise of terror against European and other Christians by not acknowledging the root of the problem namely “the intolerant ideology of Jihad.”
The growth of persecution of Christians and the antichrist agenda is another sign of the end times. See Luke 21.12-19.
The Burning of Notre Dame and the Fall of Christendom.
Notre Dame is a Catholic Cathedral, one of its most significant buildings in Europe. It is 800 years old built on the ‘Isle de la cité’ on a former pagan shrine. Its connection to Roman Catholic rule over Europe is seen by the prominent Charlemagne statue outside the building. Charlemagne was crowned Holy Roman Emperor of a united ‘Christian’ Europe (under the pope) in 800 AD. Notre Dame de Paris means ‘Our Lady of Paris’ making the connection to the Virgin Mary rather than to the Lord Jesus Christ. It has seen a turbulent history through Middle Ages, including the conflict between the Huguenots (Protestants) and the Catholic church at the time of the Reformation. The Huguenots were slaughtered by the Catholics in the St Bartholomew’s Day Massacre in 1572 in Paris. Many fled France for England and Switzerland, leading to the decline of Protestant influence. In 1789 the French Revolution resulted in the revolutionaries, turning Notre Dame into a Temple of Reason, with a pagan ceremony taking place there. It was returned to the Catholic church under Napoleon. He was crowned emperor by the pope there in a bizarre antichrist ceremony after he wrote to the pope saying ‘Tell the Pope I am Charlemagne, the Sword of the Church, his Emperor, and as such I expect to be treated.’ Napoleon later wrote from his exile of his desire to create a united Europe: ‘I wanted to found a European system, a European code of laws, a European judiciary. There would have been but one people throughout Europe.’
In the 20th century the church saw the Nazi occupation of Paris and France in WW2 and its liberation in 1945. It also experienced the French concept of ‘laïcité’ – secularism, the separation of the church and state, which has caused the decline of the influence of Roman Catholicism in public life in France.
Now Notre Dame has suffered a fire which may be irreparable.
French writer Guy Millière wrote has questioned the official explanation that attributed the fire to an accident, raising the possibility of an Islamist attack. Jihadist organisations have been issuing statements calling for the destruction of churches and Christian monuments in Europe, carried out attacks on 800 churches in 2018, including very important Catholic churches in Paris, Saint Denis and Saint Sulpice. Notre Dame was repeatedly named as a primary target. After the fire many messages were posted by people with Muslim names on social media expressing joy to see an important Christian symbol destroyed.
Such a possibility is not allowed to be spoken of by the French media or political establishment. French President Emmanuel Macron quickly went to Notre Dame and declared, “Notre Dame is our history, our literature, our imagination”. He totally left out cathedral’s religious dimension. Macron’s attitude is not surprising. From the moment he became president, he has kept himself away from any Christian ceremony keeping to the French secularism.
Guy Millière writes: ‘The results of French secularism are visible. Christianity has been almost completely wiped out from public life. Churches are empty. The number of priests is decreasing and the priests that are active in France are either very old or come from Africa or Latin America. The dominant religion in France is now Islam. Every year, churches are demolished to make way for parking lots or shopping centres. Mosques are being built all over, and they are full. Radical imams proselytise. The murder, three years ago, of Jacques Hamel, an 85-year-old priest who was slaughtered by two Islamists while he was saying mass in a church where only five people (three of them old nuns) were present, is telling.
On the evening of the fire at Notre Dame, hundreds of French people gathered in front of the burning cathedral to sing Psalms and pray. They seemed suddenly to understand that they were losing something immensely precious. The fire destroyed an essential part of what is left of the almost-lost soul of France. Some hope that the sight of the destroyed cathedral will inspire many French people to follow the example of those who prayed on the night of the disaster. Michel Aupetit, Archbishop of Paris, said on April 17, two days after the fire, that he was sure France would know a “spiritual awakening”.
Others, not as optimistic, see in the ashes of the cathedral a symbol of the destruction of Christianity in France. The art historian Jean Clair said it is a sign of an “irreversible decadence” of France, and of the final collapse of the Judeo-Christian roots of Europe. “The symbolism of the burning of Notre Dame Cathedral, the iconic symbol of Western Christendom, is hard to miss. It is as if God Himself wanted to warn us in the most unmistakable way that Western Christianity is burning — and with it, Western civilization. It is a sign of what we are losing, and what we will not recover, if we don’t change course now.” For the moment, nothing indicates that France and Western Europe will change course.’
Guy Millière is writing from a Roman Catholic point of view, however he does indicate something important for us to take note of as we see the decline of nominal Christianity in Europe and the rise of Islam. Islam aims at not just equality with Christianity in Europe, but domination. From the Islamic point of view they see no difference between RC and Protestantism – both are erroneous religions which ultimately need to be replaced by Islam. From the biblical Christian point of view, Roman Catholicism, much of Protestantism and all of Islam are in error. There is a small evangelical church in France and Europe which holds out message of salvation through Christ, but with very limited results.
Macron has proposed that Notre Dame should be recreated to be “consistent with our modern, diverse nation.” Macron is the ultimate globalist who despises the nation state and wants to see a multi cultural globalist regime. He once declared that there is “no such thing” as a true Frenchman or true Dane. So it follows that Macron has a few ideas of his own about the rebuilding of the Notre Dame cathedral that would reflect his undying commitment to “diversity,” even if they are in opposition to Christians and those who respect France’s heritage. Macron does not believe that the rebuilding of the Notre Dame should be intended to restore the glory of the ancient Gothic cathedral. He wants it to be recreated to be “consistent with our modern, diverse nation.”
Now what might that mean? Here’s an indicator: an architect has proposed that the new structure include a minaret. A minaret is a type of tower built into mosques as a visual focal point and used for the Islamic call to prayer. The architect sees fit to “memorialize Algerians who protested the French government in the 1960s” since “these victims of the state could be memorialized by replacing the spire with – why not? – a graceful minaret.”
Given the insensitivity displayed by Macron and others, it would come as no surprise if indeed a minaret were installed at Notre Dame, as a declaration of victory over France’s history and democracy. The burning down of Notre Dame was symbolic of the steady burn of French culture, as the country’s globalist leaders continue to bow to everything multiculturalism has to offer. EU leaders present the ideal of multi-culturalism and the equality of all religions. They do not want any mention of Europe’s Christian heritage, Catholic or Protestant. Above all they do not want any mention of Gospel, that Jesus offers the only way to God and any teaching that draws attention to the fact that Islam is fundamentally anti-Christian.
They might find an ally in the Pope. He too is working for a one world religion merging Catholicism and Islam as equal paths to God. In his recent meeting with Sheikh al Tayyeb, the leading Imam in Sunni Islam, the pope signed a historic declaration of fraternity, calling for peace between nations, religions and races, in front of a global audience of religious leaders from Christianity, Islam, Judaism and other faiths. The Catholic Catechism now says: “The plan of salvation also includes those who acknowledge the Creator, in the first place amongst whom are the Muslims; these profess to hold the faith of Abraham, and together with us they adore the one, merciful God, mankind’s judge on the last day.” Article 841.
Babylon is rising in Europe as western society abandons Christianity. For the end result see Revelation 17.
Rugby players in trouble over ‘hell’ post.
Australia’s best known rugby player Israel Folau (who is a committed Christian) posted an image to Instagram saying that “hell awaits” gay people. His post said ‘Warning. Drunks, homosexuals, adulterers, liars, fornicators, thieves, atheists, idolators. Hell awaits you. Repent. Only Jesus saves.’ Underneath this message were the words ‘Those that are living in sin will end up in Hell unless you repent. Jesus Christ loves you and is giving you time to turn away from your sin and come to him.’
The post caused an uproar around the world and led to Australian rugby officials terminating his contract to play for Australia and for the New South Wales Rugby Union because of his ‘homophobic’ comment.
Australian Rugby’s Chief Executive Raelene Castle said, “It was made clear to him that any social media posts or commentary that is in any way disrespectful to people because of their sexuality will result in disciplinary action.’ Folau defended his comments, saying his faith came before his career: “I would sooner lose everything – friends, family, possessions, my football career, the lot – and still stand with Jesus, than have all of those things and not stand beside Him.”
The row spread to England after Saracens player Billy Vunipola liked Folau’s post. He came under pressure to unlike the post but explained in an Instagram update why he was refusing to do so.” He was accused if homophobia by saying ‘how we live our lives needs to be closer to how God intended them to be. Man was made for woman to procreate, that was the goal, no?
Well apparently you can’t say such things now. The Rugby Football Union issued a statement on Friday saying that it was to meet Vunipola over his social media posts. “Rugby is an inclusive sport, and we do not support these views. We will be meeting with Billy to discuss his social media posts,” its statement said.
Do you think all this furore would have happened if he had left out just one word from his post – homosexuals? In the eyes of the modern world these rugby players have committed the unforgivable sin in saying that there is something wrong with homosexuality and that people need to repent of their sins in order to escape hell. In the eyes of God the really unforgiveable sin is not to repent and believe the Gospel, because that is the only way our sins can be forgiven. It seems that Christians are not to be permitted to say this publicly today. Comments made on social media can now bring down the wrath of the politically correct establishment on anyone who gets out of line.
Despite all of this God is calling us to speak out for the Gospel, ‘in nothing terrified of our enemies’ knowing that the final victory will be with the Lord Jesus Christ. All of these things happening in the environment, in the Middle East, in the rise of antichrist forces are a sign of the soon coming again of the Lord Jesus, not this time as the Suffering Servant to suffer and die for our sins but as the King of kings and Lord of lords to judge the world in righteousness according to how we have responded to the Gospel message.
