Jesus’ ‘I will come again’ prophecy

So, Jesus was basically telling the disciples something which they really didn’t want to hear. That the One they’ve been with for three years and have learned to love and to believe in, and to follow believing that He was going to bring in the Messianic Kingdom and hoping that this was going to be the fulfilment of their life’s work, He, Jesus, was about to depart from them.
