Iran’s Islamic regime has represented an existential threat to the State of Israel and a threat to US interests in the region. Its supporters cry ‘Death to America and Death to Israel’, and they mean it. They have equipped themselves with thousands of missiles buried in silos underground and worked on a nuclear programme aimed at producing a weapon capable of destroying Israel. The regime built up its ‘ring of fire’ proxy groups, Hamas in Gaza, Hezbollah in Lebanon, the Houthis in Yemen, and Iraq’s network of Shiite political parties and armed paramilitary groups. It used Syria as a hub for exporting its influence in the region until it was pushed out after the revolution against Assad in Syria in December 2024.
Iran’s involvement in the Arab Middle East is contested, not just by Israel, but also by the Sunni Arab majority states, Saudi Arabia in particular. Most Iranians are furious at the billions of dollars the regime has wasted on Arab terror networks while their own country suffers economic failure and massive infrastructure problems.
So it is a logical move for Israeli PM Netanyahu to call on the Iranian people to rise up and topple the Islamic regime.
Whether they can do this remains to be seen. Iran’s Islamic Revolution is based on an apocalyptic view of Shiite Islam that has used the Palestinian issue to export its religiously fuelled campaign to dominate the region–and in its own words–ultimately the world, through proxy terror, nuclear extortion, and political subversion.
Iran has no border with Israel, Tehran is 1000 miles from Jerusalem and Iranians are not Arabs. So Iran’s terror proxies are not expressions of political or territorial grievance. They are instruments of Tehran’s messianic and imperial ambitions, constructed methodically across Israel’s borders to execute what Iranian military planners call the “ring of fire” strategy on their way to regional and global dominance.
The regime’s strategy has its roots not in politics, but in its particular brand of radical Shi’ite end-of-days beliefs. The Islamic Republic’s messianic delusion–the belief that the return of the hidden Mahdi, the 12th imam, who disappeared in 874 CE–holds that end times must be actively hastened through jihadist struggle.
The IRGC does not merely fight for geopolitical objectives. Its senior commanders recite religious invocations before missile strikes. Its ideological training, which now consumes more than half of all required IRGC instruction, frames the eradication of Israel and the defeat of America as divine obligations–prerequisites for the Mahdi’s return. The slain Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei did not hide this.
The Iranian regime’s successful survivability despite setbacks and tactical defeat is rooted in its adherence to religious and ideological doctrine and not Western-style rational self-interest. The Islamic Republic is a regime whose leaders believe that triggering an apocalyptic conflict is a shortcut to heaven. Within the regime’s doctrine of messianic jihad, those lost in the fight against the West are martyrs, and those at home who rebel against the regime are heretics deserving of death.

A tiny minority of Iran’s population believe all this (5-10% at the most), but unfortunately that minority has control over Iran’s money, missiles and guns. If the Iranian people helped by the USA and Israel can succeed in overthrowing this evil regime, they would be doing the human race, Israel and the Arab world, a great favour. If they can’t, this war may be the first stage of a much greater conflict, in which the allies of Iran, the dictatorships of Russia, China and North Korea confront the democracies, starting with Israel. In this they are being helped by the fifth column of Israel haters and champions of terror in the ‘red green alliance’ of far leftists and Islamists in the west.
Young British Jews are enduring the unendurable
Danny Cohen: ‘When I saw a video last year of an Oxford student chanting “Put the Zios in the ground”, I shivered. I believe in the State of Israel’s right to exist, I am a Zionist. A young British man appeared to be calling publicly for people like me to be killed. The feeling I had that day is just a poisonous taste of what Jewish university students in the UK have been experiencing since the October 7 massacres. A report by the Union of Jewish Students (UJS) reveals that Jewish students are suffering widespread physical and verbal abuse, social ostracisation and pervasive antisemitic attitudes across Britain’s university campuses. In a poll of 1,000 students of all faiths, one in four students have seen behaviour that targets Jewish students for their religion or ethnicity.
The racism they are facing is violent and intimidating. It is coupled with the glorification of terrorism in educational establishments across the land. Forty-nine per cent of students have heard chants on campus glorifying the terrorists of Hamas, Hezbollah and other proscribed groups. Forty-seven per cent have witnessed justification of the October 7 mass murder of men, women and children.
The testimony of young British Jews is immensely painful to hear. Anyone who has been a student knows it can be a vulnerable time, a time when it is important to feel safe and socially accepted. Imagine then what it must feel like to be chased home and witness your abusers telling passers-by to “remember this address as Jews live here”.
Imagine being told by fellow students that satanic Jews run the world, the media and the banks. Imagine being threatened with glass bottles and facing repeated chants calling for a violent global uprising against you and your loved ones. One detail from the report has preyed on my mind particularly. One in five students in the UK would be reluctant to or would never house-share with a Jewish student. Living with a Jew now appears unacceptable to a substantial proportion of students. That young Jews are facing this racist isolation brings shame on our society.
This represents an immense failure by the Prime Minister, the Department of Education and university authorities. All of them have claimed they take Jew-hate seriously but it is clear that they have simply not done enough.’

No peace for Gaza
According to the Trump peace plan:
“Hamas and other factions agree to not have any role in the governance of Gaza, directly, indirectly, or in any form. All military, terror, and offensive infrastructure, including tunnels and weapon production facilities, will be destroyed and not rebuilt. There will be a process of demilitarization of Gaza under the supervision of independent monitors, which will include placing weapons permanently beyond use through an agreed process of decommissioning…”

However the Trump administration and its “Board of Peace,” have failed to call out Hamas for its ongoing breach of the terms of the ceasefire plan. Hamas has evidently interpreted this silence as a green light to pursue its effort to rearm, regroup and rebuild its regime by killing, torturing, and economically squeezing the residents of Gaza.
“Hamas governs from within a shattered enclave of two million people. The Board of Peace governs from a conference table in Washington. Hamas collects shekels in taxes on smuggled goods; the Board has no independent revenue stream. Hamas integrates 10,000 police personnel into proposed structures; the Board must still wait for countries to commit personnel to a stabilization force. Hamas appoints governors and mayors; the Board awaits reports.”

Hamas is rebuilding its financial machinery by collecting taxes, fees, and customs charges on goods entering the Gaza Strip. The money is not being invested in reconstruction. Instead, it is going toward rebuilding the terrorist group’s military capabilities. Any Gazans resisting Hamas risk being executed, shot, kidnapped, or brutally tortured.
While some international parties continue searching for diplomatic formulas and peace plans to stabilize the Gaza Strip, Hamas has made one thing abundantly clear: it has no intention of relinquishing terrorism or power. Until that reality changes, no peace plan will have a realistic chance of transforming the future of the Gaza Strip.

Turkey to replace Iran as main enemy of Israel
Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President of Turkey, from his comments, seems to consider himself the rightful leader of the entire Muslim world. In the interim, he evidently sees himself as “the Middle East’s next great power broker, claiming leadership while chaos reigns.”
Now, just as Israel is overcoming its primary enemy, the Iranian regime, which seeks to wipe Israel off the map and then establish a Caliphate under Sharia law in the region — along comes yet another Muslim extremist of a similar kind, Turkey’s Erdogan.
In March 2025, Erdogan doubled down on his anti-Israel rhetoric:
“In Turkey’s largest mosque, he reportedly told a crowd of worshippers: ‘May Allah, for the sake of his name, Al-Qahhar’—the Vanquisher—’destroy and devastate Israel.'”

Turkey, it seems, will become Iran’s successor in continuing venomous anti-Israel threats in the Muslim sphere, with “Death to Israel” voiced even in the Turkish parliament. Perhaps only when Turkey’s leader openly declares, “Death to America” will the US realize that the Islamist monster it has naively supported has simply been stringing the West along.
There is a view that Turkey not Russia is the leader of the Gog and Magog alliance of Ezekiel 38-39 that comes against Israel in the latter days.
